The men’s side posted a fifth-place finish, registering 142 points.  Taking home the top spot for the fourth straight year was No. 2-ranked Washington University with 26 points.  No. 7 New York University claimed runner-up honors with 49 points while the University of Chicago was third with 81 points.  Leading the Eagles’ contingent for the second straight race and third time this season was senior Alex Fleischhacker who covered the 8k course in a time of 26:11.4, good for 21st place in the 75-runner field.  Freshman Michael McBane was the next team member to cross the finish line, clocking a 26:12.4 that placed him 23rd overall.   Senior Eddie Mulder (26:37.5) and junior Patrick Crews (26:38) finished 32nd and 33rd, respectively, while freshman Michael Sisario rounded out the team’s scorers (26:52, 45th).

The women’s squad came in seventh, recording 162 points.  No. 9-ranked Chicago defended its crown, totaling 54 points that edged No. 8 NYU’s effort of 60 points.  Brandeis checked in at third (88 pts.) while Washington University was fourth with 92 points.  Junior Tamara Surtees was the team’s leading performer for the fifth time this season, posting a 6K time of 22:46.3 that was good for 14th position out of 79 entries.  Surtees’ showing allowed her to earn Second Team All-UAA acclaim for the second straight year.  Senior Emily Caesar was 16th overall with a time of 22:51 while junior Elise Viox was the next Emory runner to appear on the final score sheet with an effort of 23:49, good for 43rd place.  Rounding out the team’s scorers were junior Marissa Gogniat (24:00.3) and sophomore Ashley Stumvoll (24:01.0)
