The Emory men’s and women’s cross country teams face
their toughest challenges of the season to date this Saturday (Oct.
18) when they travel to Ohio to compete in Oberlin College’s
Inter-Regional Rumble. The men’s 8K race will begin at
11:00 am and will be followed by the women’s 6K at 11:45
am.
Approximately 37 schools will be represented at this year’s
event including a number of ranked squads in both the men’s
and women’s races.
The Emory women’s team, ranked 27th nationally,
is one of eight squads slotted among the USTFCCCA’s top 35
that will be hitting the course. The Eagles will be going up
against prominent programs such as No. 5 Geneseo State, No. 7
Oberlin College, No. 11 Mount Union and No. 12 Oneonta. On
the men’s side of things, four ranked schools will be looking
to take home first place – No. 7 Geneseo State, No. 26
Oneonta, No. 29 Carnegie Mellon and No. 34 Mount Union. The
Eagles are ranked No. 2 in the South/Southeast Region.
Emory will be returning to action for the first time since Oct. 4
when both teams recorded first-place finishes at the JSU Foothills
Invitational.
