After recording a personal best in the team's previous competition at the Furman Classic, senior Lukas Mees came through with another career-best 8K mark at the Charlotte Invitational.

Mees led all 107 entries in the Invitational and helped the No. 32-ranked men's team to a second-place finish out of 11 teams by covering the course in a time 25:25,  bettering his top performance of 25:30.   Mees used a late kick in securing first place, with Tom Nobles of Charlotte finishing runner-up in a time of 25:27.
