Junior Megan Light hit a solid .556 (5-for-9), hit a pair of homers and led the Emory softball squad in runs (4) and RBIs (6) in helping the Eagles to four wins that raised the team's record to 8-0.

In a 5-2 win over Ferrum on Saturday, Light drove in what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the third, and then followed that by coming up with another game-winning RBI with a solo homer in the bottom of the second in a 9-0 decision over York.

On Sunday, Light blasted a grand slam, her fourth round tripper of the season and one of her two hits in the game, as Emory drubbed York by a 9-0 count.

Through eight games, Light is hitting .591 with 13 hits in 22 plate appearances.  She owns a team-high 17 RBIs and has scored a team-leading 10 runs.
