Sophomore Brittany File tossed a no-hitter on Saturday against Fontbonne University, helping the Eagles to a second-game 3-0 victory and a sweep of a doubleheader.
File allowed just one walk and struck 10 batters, her second-highest total of the campaign, in boosting her season record to 7-2. It was Emory's first seven-inning no hitter since April 8, 2005, when Kathy Gordon accomplished that feat against Wesleyan (Ga.) College in a 6-0 triumph.
File has recorded a total of 228 strikeouts during her brief Emory career, good for the No. 9 spot on the program's all-time ladder.
