Junior outfielder Alyssa Pollard hit safely in a pair of
Saturday victories at the 3n2 Classic hosted by the Emory softball
team.
Pollard went a combined three-for-seven at the plate with two RBIs
and two runs scored as the No. 16 Eagles upped their overall record
to 6-0.
In a 3-2 eight-inning triumph over Birmingham Southern, Pollard
drove in the squad's first run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice
fly that knotted the score at 1-1. Later on, she scored the
tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Pollard collected two
hits in four plate appearances vs. Roanoke and scored what proved
to be the deciding run in the first frame after leading off with a
single in a 6-0 verdict over the Maroons.
Pollard has started all six games this year and is hitting .400
(8-for-20) with four RBIs.
