Sophomore (2022):

In her second season, and first full season, with the Eagles Nellis continued to prove her value playing in and starting in 24 contests during the 2022 campaign… Posted a batting average of .343, the third highest mark on the team, which resulted in 34 hits for the season… Registered a top five finish for the Eagles in nearly every offensive category most notably runs (29) and RBI (21) in which she finished second in both… A power hitter as well, Nellis finished with a slugging percentage of .556 second on the team as a result of her 12 doubles and three home runs… Playing multiple different positions including each outfield role and first base she had the highest fielding percentage on the team at .991… In a high-scoring affair against Christopher Newport (Mar. 5) Nellis had one of the best outings by any Eagle all season, going 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI, three runs a double as well as a grand slam which marked her first home run of the season… Playing the hero role in a win over Agnes Scott (Feb. 18) Nellis went 2-for-4 with three RBI including a three run double in the sixth inning that helped the Eagles complete a 7-2 comeback… Was named to the 2022 UAA Spring All-Academic Team.

 

Freshman (2021):

In her inaugural season with the Eagles, Nellis emerged as an integral member of the team playing in and drawing a starting assignment in all 10 games… Was named to the All-UAA squad for her performance as a freshman… Finished second on the team in batting average with a .419 figure which resulted in 13 hits the third most on the squad… Nellis’ prowess in the batters box led to top five numbers in both runs (8) and RBI (8)… Delivered three multi-hit performances including a 3-for-4 showing, that included a double, triple and three RBI, in a 13-2 victory over Huntingdon (Apr. 7)… Had another notable performance when she matched her season-high three hits and collected a pair of RBI against Piedmont (Apr. 27).

 

High School:
Played four years of softball at North Gwinnett High School ... Was coached by Randy Black and Amanda Heil ... Hit .586 her final season ... Garnered Scholar Athlete honors on three occasions ... Helped her team to region championships in 2017 and 2019 ... Selected for IDEALS Student-Athlete Leadership Program in 2019.
