Hannah Lilly Named To D3hoops.com Team Of The Week

Emory University sophomore Hilly Lilly (Mercer Island, WA) has earned a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week following her performances against Carnegie Mellon (Jan. 20) and Case Western Reserve University (Jan. 22).  It is the first time in her career that she has been
selected for the honor.

The 5-foot-8 Lilly Lilly averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 steals in helping the Eagles to home wins against CMU and Case. Lilly scored 26, hitting 10-of-17 from the field, including 6-of-11 from three-point range, in a 59-55 win over Carnegie Mellon. She had four rebounds and a team-high tying five steals. She followed that with 24 points in a 68-56 victory over Case. She went 8-for-16 from the field and was 6-for-6 from the line with another five-steal outing. In the two games, Lilly was successful on 54.5 percent (18-of-33) from the floor including 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from beyond the arc.

Joining Lilly on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week are Caroline Stedman (Amherst), Courtney Cirillo (Keene State), Sarah Mackey (UC-Santa Cruz) and Holly Schiedermayer (Macalester).

Through 16 contests, Lilly ranks first on the squad and in the University Athletic Association in scoring with a 19.1 points per game mark.  She is knocking down a conference-best 3.2 treys per game, good for sixth place nationally, and she is third among UAA players in three-point percentage (.400, 51-of-116).  She has scored 20 or more points in four straight contests, the first Emory player to accomplish that feat since Mandy Jackson in 1992.

Emory, 13-3 on the season and 4-1 in the UAA, returns to action when it plays at No. 2-ranked Chicago on Friday (Jan. 27).
