THE COACHES – Emory Head Coach Christy Thomaskutty (Tulane, '96) is in her ninth season at the helm of the program.  She assumed her current duties prior to the start of the 2003-04 campaign.  She is assisted by Katherine Menendez, Kim Coleman, Jessica Davis and Chelsea MacDonald.

In his 13th year as the head coach at Rochester is Jim Scheible (Clarkson, 1988).  During his run with the Yellowjackets, he has guided the program to three NCAA Division III Final Four appearances (2002-03, 2003-04 and 2009-10).  Before coming to Rochester, Scheible served as coach at Elmira College for seven seasons.

2011-12 RECORDS – Emory stands 17-7 overall, 8-5 in the University Athletic Association, good for a third-place tie with Rochester.  Last weekend, Emory ventured to Carnegie Mellon where it posted an 83-60 triumph over the Tartans with sophomore Hannah Lilly leading the squad's scoring attack with 19 points.  On Sunday, the Eagles saw their four-game winning streak come to an end when they came out on the short end of a 77-60 verdict to Case Western.   The team's 17 wins represent the program's highest total since the 1997-98 unit finished with a 17-7 ledger.

Rochester, ranked 19th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, hosts Emory with an overall slate of 19-5.   The Yellowjackets have dropped five of their last seven games including a pair of road contests last weekend, 58-57 at Case Western and 67-62 at Carnegie Mellon.  UR has won eight of 10 home games this season.

SERIES RECORDS – In a series that started in January of 1989, Rochester claims a 27-19 all-time mark against Emory.  The Yellowjackets have captured the last four meetings including a 76-64 outcome earlier this year in Atlanta.   UR has won 15 of the 21 contests that have been played on its home floor.

EMORY TRIO TO SERVE AS CAPTAINS – Serving as captains of the 2011-12 Emory women's basketball team are senior Melissa Koike (San Francisco, CA) along with juniors Danielle Landry (Vienna, VA) and Misha Jackson (Atlanta).

THREE-POINT SHOOTING A KEY FOR EMORY – Emory shot well from three-point range in last weekend's games, knocking down 40 percent (12-of-30) from beyond the arc against CMU with the team's dozen triples tying the second-highest game total in school history.  In Sunday's outing at Case, the Eagles converted 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from distance, the 11th time this season that they had been successful on 40 percent or better of their opportunities.  Entering Saturday's contest at Rochester, Emory has registered a better three-point percentage than its opposition in 16 contests this season.

Emory leads the UAA and ranks 17th nationally among Division III teams in three-point field goals per game (7.0 tpg) while also checking in with a league-leading 36.2 percent effort from beyond the arc,  good for ninth place nationally.  In conference games only, the Eagles stand first in three-pointers per game (7.4 tpg) and are third in three-point percentage (.339).

This year's team has established a school seasonal record with 167 three-point field goals, bettering the previous standard of 151 (2007-08), and its three-point percentage is currently the fourth-highest showing in school annals.   Ironically, Emory has enjoyed more success shooting the three-ball on the road than at home this year, sinking 41.4 percent (113-of-273) from distance on enemy courts compared to its mark of 28.7 percent (54-of-188) in its 10 home contests.

MISHA JACKSON UAA LEADER IN DOUBLES -- Junior Misha Jackson's chalked up her UAA-leading seventh double-double of the season and eighth of her career last Friday against Carnegie Mellon, totaling 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.  She followed that performance with 14 points against Case Western, boosting her total to 20 games with double-digit point production in 2011-12.

Heading into this weekend's action, Jackson holds down the No. 2 spot on the squad and fifth among UAA players in overall scoring average (12.8 ppg).  In league contests, she is scoring at an 11.5 per-game clip, tenth on the conference ladder.  Jackson has been the Eagles' top scorer in six contests and continues to pace the club with a 48.4 percent (137-of-283) effort from the floor, good for sixth place among UAA performers.

The 5-foot-11 Jackson has snatched 10 or more rebounds on seven occasions this year and owns 10 career outings during her two-year career with the Eagles.  She has led or shared for the team lead in boards in 12 games this year and her 7.9 per-game mark in rebounding ranks fourth among UAA players.  In conference games, Jackson stands tied for second on the UAA chart in rebounding with a 7.8 per-game average.

MORGAN SETS SCHOOL GAME RECORD IN ASSISTS
– Sophomore Savannah Morgan dished out a school-record 13 assists in the 83-60 victory over Carnegie Mellon, bettering the previous mark of 12 held by LeShonda Lillard (vs. Baruch College, Nov. 22, 2008).  Morgan also registered 15 points and came up with four steals against CMU, and followed that effort with a nine-assists, 13-points and four-steals effort at Case Western.

Morgan's 22 assists over the weekend upped her 2011-12 total to 138, just one shy of tying Amy Carter (1994-95) for the top spot on the school's seasonal ladder.  She has posted six or more assists in 13 contests this year and continues to pace the UAA in that category in both overall (5.8 apg) and league (6.4 apg) with her overall effort placing her seventh nationally in the D-III ranks.  In addition, she is tied for the top spot in the conference and ranks 25th on the national scene in assist/turnover ratio (1.9).

The team leader in assists in 16 of the last 17 and in a total of 18 games this season, Morgan's career total of 243 assists is sixth on the Eagles' all-time chart.  Her career showing of 4.9 assists per game ranks first all-time at Emory.

Morgan is 17th in the UAA in scoring (9.4 ppg) and has produced 12 contests of 10 or more points, seven of which have come during UAA action.  She is first in the league in steals (2.3 spg), with her 55 thefts tying for seventh on the school's seasonal chart, seventh in three-point field goal percentage (.352, 25-of-71) and tied for fourth in minutes (30.6 mpg).
