Hannah Lilly Named To Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team

Emory University junior Hannah Lilly (Mercer Island, WA), a three-year starter on the women's basketball team, has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.  To be eligible, a nominee must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at his/her current institution, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and be a starter or key reserve.

Emory is part of District 5 which is comprised of all Division III schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Lilly will now move on to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-America recognition.

Lilly majors psychology and owns a 3.79 grade-point average.  She has played a vital role in helping the Eagles to an overall record of 16-2, the best 18-game record in school history, along with a No. 16 national ranking, starting all 17 games she has seen action in and averaging a team-high 14.4 points per game, good for the No. 3 position on the University Athletic Association ladder.  A double-figure scorer on 15 occasions this year, Lilly has totaled a team-high 41 three-point field goals and her 2.4 treys-per-game mark is second among league performers.  The team's leading scorer on eight occasions, Lilly was entering a Feb. 1 game at Brandeis with a 23-game streak of sinking at least one three pointer, tying the second-longest mark in school history.  Career-wise, she ranks No. 8 on the school's all-time scoring list with 967 points and is second with 156 treys.

It is Lilly's first berth on the Capital One Academic All-District Team. Voting is conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
