Junior Michelle Bevan paced the Emory women's basketball team in scoring and was tied for first in rebounding as the Eagles split a pair of games.
Bevan averaged 19.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in contests vs. Rhodes College and Rochester. In addition, she shot a blistering 60.7 percent (17 of 28) from the field and 83.3 percent (5 of 6) from the foul line.
In a 70-46 triumph over Rhodes, Bevan topped all players with a career-high 21 points, connecting on 10-of-14 field goal opportunities. Her 21 points was her first-ever outing of 20 or more points and represented the high-water mark by an Emory player this season. In a hard-fought battle vs. No. 12 Rochester, Bevan once again led all players with 18 points, ending the afternoon converting seven-of-14 from the floor along with all four of her free throw attempts. Bevan also tied for the team's lead with eight rebounds.
A starter in five of the seven games she has seen action in, Bevan leads Emory in scoring (10.4 ppg) and field goal percentage (.556, 30-of-54). She has produced three double-figure scoring contests.
