Dumebi Egbuna

Dumebi Egbuna

Sophomore Dumebi Egbuna led the Emory women's basketball team in scoring and helped the Eagles to a pair of home UAA wins.

Egbuna averaged 14.5 points, shot 53.3 percent (8 of 15) from the floor, and converted 81.3 percent (13 of 16) from the charity stripe as the Eagles raised their overall record to 13-9, 4-7 in conference play.

In a 65-59 triumph over No. 14 NYU, Egbuna paced the Emory scoring attack with 17 points, tying her third-highest career total, hitting five-of-eight from the floor along with all seven of her free throw attempts with that total establishing a career best. She also added three rebounds and a pair of steals.  She followed that performance by ranking second on the team in scoring with 12 points while pulling down five boards in a 64-48 triumph over Brandeis.   Her point production against the Judges was her third straight and eighth double-figure scoring performance of the season.
