The No. 9 ranked Emory University women's basketball program picked up its fifth conference win on Friday night defeating the Brandeis Judges 81-57 in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Graduate Student Claire Brock led the way for the Eagles once again scoring 16 points and going 3-3 at the line. Freshman Alexandra Loucopoulos posted a career-high 13 points shooting 66.7 percent from the field (4-6). Junior Daniella Aronsky led Emory from beyond the arc going 2-4 in threes to go for nine points and three assists.

Emory improves to 15 -2 overall on the season and sit 5-1 in the conference. The Eagles are on a three-game win streak and have only taken one loss on the road this season.

The Eagles started early with a 6-2 lead in the first minute and a half of the first quarter helped by four points from sophomore Katherine Martini. The next two minutes were scoreless until the Judges cut the lead for Emory to two points with 6:42 on the clock. Free throws from Loucopoulos helped the Eagles to a 11-point 15-4 lead with two minutes remaining in the quarter before Emory went on a 5-4 run to take a 20-8 advantage into the second quarter.

Sophomore Lily Kennedy came out big in the second quarter scoring seven points in the first three minutes to broaden Emory's lead to 27-10. The Eagles were scoreless until the 3:42 mark with Brock picking up three free throws to give the Eagles a 30-14 lead. Emory was able to take advantage of fouls from the Judges' offense scoring five more points from free throws before back to back threes from Aronsky in the final minute helped the team to a 44-21 lead heading into the locker room.

The third quarter started slow for the Eagles scoring four points in the first four minutes, all coming from Brock. Brock made four more points helping the Eagles to a 52-30 lead before free throws from Loucopoulos widened the gap between the teams. A late three pointer from sophomore Lilah Gery put Emory 30 points ahead of Brandeis before the Judges ended the third quarter with free throws and Emory held a 63-34 lead heading into the last quarter.

Emory started the fourth quarter slow scoring just three points in the first two minutes of the quarter. Sophomore Chloe Kreusser followed with a steal and four points to give Emory a 70-42 lead with 7:22 left on the clock. Later in the quarter, Kennedy made another layup helping the Eagles to a 76-49 lead before going scoreless for the next two minutes of the game. The final two minutes were all about the freshman with Kate Arne and Emma Starr scoring five points to secure the 81-57 victory.

The Eagles were able to outshoot the Judges in all categories except free throw percentage. Emory shot 33.3 percent from beyond the perimeter compared to Brandeis' 19.0 percent and went 43.9 percent from the field compared to the Judges' 31.7 percent.

The Eagles now travel to New York to face the No. 1 ranked NYU Violets on Sunday, January 28 at 2:00 PM.
