The Emory University women's golf team concluded its participation at the Golfweek Invitational on Sunday. The 54-hole tournament was played on the 5.800-yard, par-72 El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the Hills, Florida.

The Eagles turned in a team score of 324 over the final 18 holes to finish the event at 971, good for fourth place out of eight teams.  No. 25 Centre played its way to first-place honors with a 936 (317-315-304), 18 shots better than runner-up Carnegie Mellon (322-317-315).  No. 2 Methodist captured third place with a mark of 961 (329-316-316).

Freshman Mariana Chong and sophomore Ksheera Jalakam tied for squad's top score with a seven-over par 79.  Freshman Jessica Lan carded an 81 while freshman Rebecca Schiffman closed out the Eagles' scoring efforts with an 85.

For the tournament, Chong led Emory and tied for seventh overall out of 40 players with a score of 238 (79-80-79).  Jalakam was close behind with her total of 239 (80-80-79) deadlocking for the No. 10 spot.  Lan finished at 241 (81-79-81) with that effort tying for 13th.

Bailey Plourde of Center took home medalist honors with an effort of eight-over par 224.

Emory returns to action, Apr. 11-12, when it competes at the Montgomery Country Club Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama.
