The Emory women's golf team played in the program's first-ever round of the NCAA D-III Championships on Tuesday. The Championships are being held at the 5,818, par-72 Forest Akers West Course in East Lansing, Michigan.

The Eagles are tied for 18th place after shooting a score of 344.  Carnegie Mellon stands in the top spot at 312 while George Fox ranks second with a 318.

Freshman Rebecca Schiffman was Emory's top scorer during the first 18 holes of action, shooting an eight-over par 80 that ties her for 20th place out of 131 players.  Sophomore Ksheera Jalakam checked in with an 85 while classmate Shriya Agarwal carded an 88. Freshmen Jessica Lan and Mariana Chong shot 91 and 92, respectively.

The second round of the Championships will be played on Wednesday with the Eagles scheduled to tee off at 2:05 pm.
