Freshman Ellen Dong helped the Emory Women's Golf team to a first-place finish out of 10 teams at the season-opening Lynn Schweizer Invitational in Granville, Ohio.  It represented the first time in program history that the Eagles had captured the top spot in a tournament. 

Playing on the 5,805-yard, par-72 Denison Golf Club, Dong tied classmate Irene Wang for medalist honors in the 63-player field, shooting an even-par score of 144 (72-72). Dong placed second on the team and overall in the tournament with 25 pars while tying for the team lead with four birdies.  She was also one of four players to have posted an eagle on her score card.
