The Emory University women's golf team had a strong performance at the Savannah Collegiate, its first tournament of the spring season, finishing in second place. The 36-hole tournament was played on the 5,676-yard, par 72 course at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles registered a score of 595 over the two-day tournament, recording a score of 295 on Saturday and 300 on Sunday. The No.1 ranked Carnegie Mellon Tartans took home the tournament crown with a score of 591 while No.3 ranked Methodist (597 points) rounded out the podium.

Freshman Heejo Hyun finished the tournament with the highest score for the Eagles registering a two-round total of 147 (72-75). Hyun's performance saw her finish the tournament tied for fourth. Freshman Ellen Dong and sophomore Irene Wang finished with an identical 74-75 score to tie them for a ninth-place finish. Freshman Sharon Mun finished just a stroke behind them carding a 150 (75-75) as a result of finishing with the best combined score on all par-3 holes at the tournament. Sophomore Mariana Chong rounded out scoring for the Eagles finishing with a 152 (76-76) and the second-best score of all golfers on the par-5 holes.

The Eagles are back in action on March 12th-13th as they compete for the conference crown at the UAA Championships on the Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, FL.
