The No. 3 ranked Emory University women's golf team won the team title at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational in dominating fashion Sunday afternoon in Granville, Ohio.
After shooting a one-under 291 on Saturday, the Eagles continued to impress during the final round of the tournament with a team score of 292. Emory's two-day total of 583 was 26 strokes better than second place Centre College which finished the weekend at 609.
Four Eagles finished among the top-seven in the individual standings with junior Sharon Mun claiming the individual title with a two-round score of 142 after carding a 71 both days. Freshman Esther Jung shined in her team debut as she finished as the individual runner-up with a 144, including a tournament-best round of 70 on Sunday. Senior Irene Wang placed sixth overall at 148 (73-75) while newcomer Derica Chiu was one stroke back in seventh after recording a second round score of 76.
Following the impressive weekend under first-year head coach Liz Fernandes, the Eagles will return to action September 24-25 with the MCC Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama.
