Women's Golf Finishes Strong at NCAA Fall Preview

The Emory University women's golf program finished on a strong note Tuesday afternoon, rounding out the NCAA Fall Preview at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

After a day one score of 304, the Eagles shaved 10 shots off their second round tally to finish the two-day tournament with a score of 598 (304-294) and in fourth in the team standings. Emory's 294 in the secound was the second-best amongst the 18-team field. Carnegie Mellon won the tournament with a two-round total of 584 followed by Pomona-Pitzer (591) and George Fox University (596).

Four different Eagles ended the competition in a tie for 18th individually with a score of 150. Senior Irene Wang led the team on Tuesday with a team-low 72 while both junior Sharon Mun and freshman Derica Chiu posted scorecards reading 73. After leading the Eagles with a 74 on Monday, freshman Esther Jung rounded out her time in Kentucky with a 76 over the final 18.

Junior Heejo Hyun, who was second on the team in scoring in round one at 76, recorded a score of 80 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 37th.

Emory looks to close out its fall schedule in two weeks with a pair of tournaments in Sandestin, Florida. The Eagles will take part in the Golfweek Preview from Oct. 15-17th before remaining at the Sandestin Resort for the UAA Championships on Oct. 18th.
