Women’s Golf Finishes Second at 2024 NCAA Championships

The Emory University women's golf program turned in a second place finish at the NCAA Championships finishing on Friday afternoon in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The Eagles finished with a team score of 1201 while shooting 308 on Friday afternoon in round four. Fellow UAA opponent Carnegie Mellon took the top spot with a team score of 1187 while Pomona-Pitzer took bronze with a team score of 1203.

Junior Ellen Dong highlighted the Eagles individually taking second overall shooting a combined 289, just one stroke behind George Fox standout Alison Takamiya who took the title with a score of 288. She finished the day with 11 pars and three birdies finishing just two-over par on the day.

Following behind was freshman Esther Jung who also shot a 74 in the final round of the tournament and finished in a tie for 29th individually. She tied her second best tournament score on Friday afternoon after shooting even on the front nine to start the day. Also shooting sub-80 on the day was sophomore Katie Park. Park shot 79 on the day with seven pars on the front nine and took home a tie for 41st individually.

Rounding out the day for the Eagles was freshman Carys Code and junior Sharon Mun who both shot 81 in the final round of the tournament. Code shot a combined 303 on the week finishing in a tie for 22nd while Mun finished with a 314 mark and tied for 56th individually.
