The Emory University women's soccer team will face one of its
toughest tests of the season this weekend, as the Eagles will
continue University Athletic Association (UAA) play on the road
against the 11th-ranked University of Chicago.
Emory currently stands at 4-1-4 on the season, including a 0-0-1
mark in UAA matches, following its 1-1 tie against
18th-ranked Washington University (Mo.) on Sunday.
Emory has gone undefeated in its last eight matches, all against
Division III opponents, and is 3-1-1 in contests away from home
this season.
Chicago is 8-1-1 on the season, including a 0-0-1 record in UAA
play after a tie against Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.
The Maroons are currently ranked 11th in the NSCAA
poll, and seventh in the D3Soccer.com poll. Chicago, which
was picked to win the UAA in the preseason coaches' poll,
is 5-0-0 in home contests in 2009.
Emory is 14-7-2 all time against Chicago, including a 2-0-1 record
in the last three meetings. Last season, the Eagles defeated
the Maroons 2-1 at the WoodPEC. Emory senior Talia
Dweck has a career assist against Chicago.
Saturday's match is slated for a 2:30 PM EST start.

Emory is 0-0-2 against teams currently-ranked teams, with ties
against Illinois Wesleyan University (#5) and Washington University
(#18)... After one conference game, the Eagles are in a four-way
tie for third in the UAA with Chicago, Washington and Carnegie

players with six assist this season, and ranks 22nd
among all Division III players with 0.67 assists per game... Junior
goalkeeper Kirsten Baecher leads the UAA with 43
saves this season and 5.38 saves per game.
