Emory University freshman Lauren Gorodetsky helped the 14th-ranked Eagles record a scoreless shutout against conference rival and reigning NCAA Division III runner-up Washington University (Mo.) on Sunday. Gorodetsky played the entirety of the contest in the backfield for Emory, holding the Bears to just six shots on goal, and allowing only five corner kicks during the game, en route to the team’s fifth shutout of the season. She has started all 10 games for the Eagles this season, helping the team allow just 3.9 shots on goal per game and record a 0.47 goals-against average. Gorodetsky’s performance this season has helped the Eagles to an 8-0-2 start.
