Merrill Bachouros

Merrill Bachouros

Emory University sophomore Merrill Bachouros had a career day during the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Birmingham-Southern College on Friday night.  Bachouros had a part in all three of the team’s goals during the game, scoring two in the first 10 minutes of the contest, and assisting on the third in the second half.  The midfielder gave the Eagles’ a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute, converting a header off a corner kick.  Just over three minutes later, Bachouros scored again, this time on a long shot from outside the penalty box.  She capped off the Eagles’ win with an assist on a goal in the 70th minute, passing into the box to find her teammate for the score.  Bachouros finished the game with seven shots, the most by any Emory player in a game this season.  Her performance overall this season has helped the Eagles to a 6-0-1 start to their 2010 campaign.
