The Emory University women’s soccer team received a
double-dose of good news on Monday morning, as the Eagles not only
received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, but were also
selected to host first- and second-round matches.
The Eagles (14-1-3), ranked seventh in Division III, will be
welcoming in Lynchburg College (17-2-2), Maryville College (13-5-1)
and Transylvania University (16-3-1). Emory will face
Maryville in its first round match, while Lynchburg will take on
Transylvania. The winners of each match will play in the
second round.
Emory has already played and defeated two of the three other teams
in the draw. On September 5th on a neutral field,
the Eagles bested Lynchburg College 2-1 on a Melanie
Levy ‘golden goal’ in overtime. On
September 26th at Maryville College, Emory earned a 3-1
victory.
