Emory University sophomore all-American Lauren Gorodetsky led an Eagles backfield that allowed just two shots on goal during a pair of University Athletic Association (UAA) road shutout wins last weekend. Against 22nd-ranked Case Western Reserve University, Gorodetsky and the Emory backline limited the Spartans to four total shots, only two of which were on goal, during a 1-0 win. The center back followed that performance by holding the University of Rochester without a shot on goal and to nine total shots during another 1-0 victory. Gorodetsky played all 180 minutes during the weekend, and has led an Emory defense that has recorded a 0.15 goals-against average this season, while limiting opponents to just six shots per game and 2.3 shots on goal per game. Gorodetsky and the Eagles have opened the season 11-0-2, and are currently in first place in the UAA with a 3-0-1 conference record.
