#4 Eagles Remain Undefeated with 1-1 Tie at #20 Chicago

In the team's opening contest of University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Saturday, the fourth-ranked Emory women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with the 20th-ranked University of Chicago.

Emory freshman Charlotte Butker got the Eagles off to a quick start, scoring just 44 seconds into play on a shot from within the box, past the Chicago keeper.  It was the third goal of the season for the forward, who is now tied for second on the squad with 11 points this season.  Senior Claire Rubel picked up her first assist of the year on the play.

The score remained 1-0 all the way until the 76th minute, when a penalty kick was awarded to Chicago's Natalia Jovanovic, who was able to convert the opportunity and even the match at a goal apiece.

Emory will return home next weekend, hosting 12th-ranked Washington University on Sunday, October 9th at 1:30 PM.
