The sixth-ranked Emory University women's soccer team set a program for most consecutive games without a loss to start a season with a 1-0 win at the University of Rochester on Sunday afternoon.

With the victory, the Eagles raised their overall record to 11-0-2 on the season, marking the first time in the program's history that Emory has not had lost a game through their first 13 contests.  The Eagles also remained in control of the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings, improving to 3-0-1 in conference play.  With 10 points in UAA play, the Eagles maintained a one-point lead over Case Western Reserve University for first place.

Rochester fell to 2-2-0 in UAA action, and to 7-5-0 overall this season with the loss.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Eagles were able to score late in the first frame.  In the 43^rd minute, Emory freshman Emily Feldman drove towards the box, taking a shot on goal that was deflected by the Yellowjackets' keeper.  Her fellow freshman, Jessica Hirst, was able to collect the rebound and shoot into the resulting open net for her first goal of the season.

It marked the second-straight Emory game that a Feldman shot deflection led to an Eagles goal.  Feldman picked up her fifth assist of the campaign on the play, tying her with Charlotte Butker for the team lead.  She also leads all Emory players with 15 total points this season.

Emory's defense turned in another strong performance on Sunday afternoon, holding Rochester to just nine shots, none of which were on goal.  Meanwhile, Emory's offense took 11 shots, six of which were on goal.

Emory goalkeeper Erica Stein claimed the victory with a scoreless first half, improving to 8-0-1 on the season.  Junior Kaele Leonard played the second half in the net, keeping Rochester scoreless throughout.

Emory will play its final road game of the season next weekend, facing Berry College in a non-conference game at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 22nd.

The Eagles have won three-straight games by a 1-0 score… Sunday's game was the third time this season that Emory has held its opponent without a shot on goal… The Eagles also held Lynchburg College (September 11^th) and Agnes Scott College (September 28^th) without a shot on goal… Sunday's game marked the first win at Rochester in 15 attempts for the Emory women's soccer program… The shutout was Emory's 11^th of the season through 13 games… The Eagles are now three shutouts shy of the program record for shutouts in a season, previously set during the 1998 and 2000 seasons… Emory has three UAA games remaining (against Carnegie Mellon, Brandeis and NYU), all of which are at home.
