Gorodetsky & Feldman Named Jewish Sports Review All-Americans

Emory University junior defender Lauren Gorodetsky was named to the Jewish Sports Review All-America First Team, while sophomore forward Emily Feldman garnered an honorable mention to the squad.

The award is the latest in a string of postseason honors for Gorodetsky, who was named the Defender of the Year by D3Soccer.com and the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the NCAA Division III Championships, in addition to earning all-America first team recognition from both D3Soccer.com and the NSCAA.  Earlier in the year, she was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) MVP for the second-straight season and the all-UAA first team for the third-consecutive campaign.  Gorodetsky, a member of the UAA's 25-Year Anniversary Team, started all 24 games during the year for Emory and added a goal and four assists, including the game-winning goal during the team's 2-1 win over Wheaton College (Ill.) in the NCAA Semifinals.  This was the second year in a row that Gorodetsky was named an All-American by the Jewish Sports Review.

Feldman was selected as an honorable mention to the Jewish Sports Review all-America team for the second-straight season as well, in addition to earning an all-UAA second team selection earlier in the season.  She registered a team-high 20 points for the second year, coming on an Emory-best eight goals and four assists.  Feldman saved some of her best work for the end of the season, scoring a team-best four goals in the postseason, setting both single- and career-postseason records for the program.  She scored both goals during the Eagles' 2-1 victory over Loras College in the round of 16, and the opening goal during the team's 2-1 win over Wheaton College in the semifinals.

Gorodetsky and Feldman helped the Eagles reach the finals of the NCAA Championships for the first time in the program's history during the 2012 season, as the squad finished the campaign with an overall record of 15-2-7.
