Emory University freshman Melinda Altamore scored a goal for the ninth-ranked Eagles during the team’s 1-1 double-overtime tie against Brandeis University on Sunday. Altamore scored with just over 40 seconds left in the first half, launching a perfectly-placed shot from approximately 35 yards. It the second goal of the year for the midfielder, who now has five points this year. Altamore also took a pair of shots during the Eagles’ 1-1 double-overtime tie at New York University on Friday, including one on goal. Emory is now 7-1-5 during the 2014 season, including an 0-1-3 record in University Athletic Association (UAA) games.
