Emory University junior Liz Arnold helped lead the seventh-ranked Eagles to a 1-1 double-overtime tie against top-ranked Trinity University (Tex.) on Friday night. Arnold played all 110 minutes in goal, making a pair of saves and yielding just one score to the third-highest scoring offense in Division III last season. One of her two saves came in the final 30 seconds of the first overtime on a point-blank attempt by the Tigers’ forward, keeping the game knotted at a goal apiece. Arnold has played all 310 minutes in goal for the Eagles this season, making five saves and recording a 0.58 goals-against average. Arnold and the Eagles have opened the 2014 season with a 1-0-2 record.
