Ally Peterson

Ally Peterson

Emory University junior Ally Peterson helped guide the 21st-ranked Eagles to three shutouts in as many games, including a pair in University Athletic Association (UAA) contests.  The center back was the only Eagle to play all 290 minutes of action during the week, helping to limit the Eagles’ three opponents to a combined 21 shots and 10 shots on goal.  On Wednesday against Birmingham-Southern College, Peterson helped restrict the Panthers to just eight shots, with only four on goal, leading Emory to a 2-0 win.  During Friday’s 0-0 double-overtime tie with the University of Rochester, she held the opponents to just eight shots and four shots on goal once again.  Capping off the weekend, Peterson limited Case Western Reserve University to five shots, with just a pair on target.  Peterson is the only player to have started every game for the Eagles this season, helping the defense record a 0.43 goals-against average and 10 shutouts.  Emory, 10-1-6 overall this season, is tied for fourth-place in the UAA with a 1-1-4 conference record.
