Emory University junior goalkeeper Liz Arnold was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week for Women's Soccer for the second-straight week, after leading the fifth-ranked eagles to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Washington University (Mo.).
Arnold played all 110 minutes of the game, making a career-high eight saves and allowing just one first half goal to the Bears, who entered the game as the 36th-ranked offensive in Division III. The eight stops passed her previous career high of seven saves in a game, set twice during her career.
For the season, Arnold is 6-0-3 with four shutouts, and ranks 18th in Division III with a 0.41 goals-against average and 33rd with a .882 save percentage. This was the third conference athlete of the week honor of her career.
The Eagles remain one of eight undefeated teams in Division III with a 6-0-3 overall record, including a 0-0-1 mark in UAA play.
