Junior Hannah Meyer of the Emory University women's soccer team was selected as the University Athletic Association Defender of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Hannah was one of two players to start all three games on defense for the Eagles during the past week. She helped Emory to a 3-0 record, a season-best five game win streak and assisted the defensive unit in allowing five shots total in the three games with just four being on goal. The Austin, TX native added two shots on goal in the team's 1-0 win over Birmingham Southern on Friday night.

This is the first UAA Athlete of the Week honor for a member of the women's soccer team during the 2015 season. Emory returns to action this weekend with a pair of games at the Woodruff PE Center. First, the Eagles will host Brooklyn College on Friday night at 7:00pm before welcoming 4th-ranked Lynchburg College to campus on Sunday for a 1:00pm kickoff.
