#25 Eagles Blanked by #16 Lynchburg

The 25th-ranked Emory University Women's Soccer team dropped to 2-2 on the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to 16th-ranked Lynchburg College, 4-0, on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.

The Hornets built a 3-0 lead in the opening half before going on to win by the four goal margin. Hannah Olds opened the scoring, finding the back of the net off the feed from Caitlin Mertens at the 14:30 mark. Just 2:57 minutes later, Sarah Hammock made it 2-0 with a tally over freshman Haley Pratt's head. Alyssa Rudy increased the Hornets lead to three with a goal of her own in the 39th minute.

In the 59th minute, Olds pushed home her second goal of the contest to provide the 4-0 final margin.

The Eagles were outshot 14-9 with senior Cristina Ramirez leading the way with three.

Emory will look to rebound tomorrow as they face Roanoke College at 5:00 PM in the second game of the Roanoke Invitational. The Maroons squared off against Berry College on Saturday evening to open the tournament.
