The Emory University Women's Soccer team hosts New York University and #22/16 Brandeis University in the first double weekend of the University Athletic Association slate this Friday and Sunday at the Woodruff PE Center.

Chicago and Washington begin the weekend 2-0 in conference play with Brandeis and Carnegie Mellon sitting a half game back at 1-0-1. NYU is fifth at 1-1 with Emory, Rochester and Case Western Reserve all still looking for their first UAA win.
Friday'S UAA schedule sees the Judges at Rochester, CWRU at WashU and Carnegie Mellon at Chicago. In addition to Emory and Brandeis, Sunday's lineup pits NYU at Rochester, CMU at WashU and CWRU at Chicago.
RV/24 Emory Eagles (7-4-0, 0-2-0 UAA)
Following a 1-1 week against Huntingdon College and top-ranked Chicago, the Eagles slipped out of the United Soccer Coaches Association national poll and are currently receiving votes while D3Soccer.com has the Eagles positioned 24th in this week's national rankings.
Emory, ranked 81st in Division III in scoring offense, is still in search of its first UAA tally having been stifled by WashU and Chicago. The Eagles rank third among UAA teams in shots (224) and fourth in total points (80). Sophomore Caroline Kolski and freshmen Anne Otterbein, Samantha Hilsee led the Eagles with four goals apiece with junior Abbe McCarter pacing the squad with 13 points on three goals and seven assists, which ranks tied for second in the conference. Defensively, Emory ranks 79th in Division III with a 0.81 goals-against average with goalkeepers junior Dani Staffin and sophomore Haley Pratt having combined to allow just nine goals in 11 contests. Among UAA leaders, Pratt is currently fifth with 20 saves on the year.
New York University Violets (7-3-1, 1-1-0 UAA)
The Violets have won two straight to improve to 7-3-1 overall with one victory coming at home aganst Case Western Reserve to move to 1-1 in UAA action. Alex Benedict is the lone double-digit scorer for the Violets, leading the team with 12 points on team-bests four goals and four assists. Charlie Herbertz and Isabelle Turner have each netted three goals while Julia Raith has scored a pair to highlight the NYU offensive attack. The Violets have been stout defensively in 2017, limiting the opposition to just five goals in 11 contets, ranking 22nd in Division III with a .446 goals-against average. NYU has seen three goalkeepers split time between the posts on the year with Sophia Danielsen earning the most playing time, going 3-2-0 in five starts with a 0.60 GAA and a .833 save percentage. Michaela Brickley has made four starts, posting a 3-1 record to go along with a 0.57 GAA and a .867 save percentage. NYU is coached Michele Canning, who is in the middle of her eighth season on the sidelines. During her tenure, Canning has registered a 77-41-14 overall record with one NCAA tournament berth (2014).
22/16 Brandeis University Judges (9-1-2, 1-0-1 UAA)
The Judges, coming off a NCAA Final Four appearance in 2016, are 9-1-2 overall with their only defeat coming at MIT in the season opener. Brandeis is highlighted by a trio of double-digit point scorers in junior Sasha Sunday and seniors Samantha Schwartz and Haliana Burhans. Sunday has posted a team-best 17 points thanks to five goals and a team-high seven assists. Schwartz has recorded 12 points thanks to a team-best six goals while Burhans has scored four goals in addition to three assists for 11 points. The Judges have allowed 12 goals on the year, ranking 108th in the country with a .954 GAA. Sophomore Sierra Dana has made 11 starts between the posts, going 9-1-2, a 0.82 GAA, .811 save percentage and five shutouts. On the sidelines, Brandeis is coached by Denise Dallamora who is in her 38th season with the program. During her long-time career, Dallamora has registered a career mark of 352-268-70 and has led the Judges to the NCAA tournament in five of the last seven campaigns.

Emory has lost just once to NYU in the all-time series, leading 12-1-9 in 22 meetings. The two programs have battled to three straight 1-1 draws.
Emory holds an 18-6-6 advantage over Brandeis in 30 all-time meetings. The two schools have also played to three consecutive draws.
