Emory Women's Soccer Earns NCAA At-Large Bid; Heads to Centre for Opening Rounds

The Emory University women's soccer team is headed back to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season as the Eagles were one of 20 teams chosen as an at-large selection in the field of 64 during the NCAA.com selection show on Monday afternoon.

The No. 21 ranked Eagles (11-4-3) have an impending showdown against the Tigers of Wittenberg (10-8-1) on Friday, November 12th. The Eagles and Tigers have only faced off once before, ending in a tie after double-OT on September 6, 2008. In addition to Wittenberg, Emory will be joined by Centre (15-1-2) and Covenant (13-5-2) in its four-team pod. The Colonels will take on the Scots on Friday with the Eagles and Tigers to follow in Danville, KY. The two winners will advance and face off against one another on Saturday afternoon.

This marks Emory's 19th overall appearance in the NCAA tournament and 11th under Head Coach Sue Patberg. To see the entire field of 64-teams, please click here.

Live stats and video links will be made available later this week as well as more information about the opening round matches held at Centre College.
