Women's Soccer Place Four on United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

Four members of the Emory University women's soccer team were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association this week, earning All-Region VI honors.

Senior Kylie Hall and freshman Riley Miller were tabbed to the All-Region First Team while graduate student Mara Rodriguez and junior Grace Reyer were honored with Second Team selections.

For Hall, it is her second straight All-Region selection and first as a member of the First Team while this marks the first career regional honors for Miller, Rodriguez and Reyer. For Miller, she is just the fourth freshman in team history to earn First Team honors and the first since Lauren Gorodetsky in 2010. This year, she is one of just five first-year athletes to garner First Team acclaim out of the ten regions.

After earning a Second Team nod in 2021, Hall secures a berth on the First Team following one of the best individual seasons by an Emory soccer player in recent memory. Hall established new program records for most assists in a single season (16), assists per game (0.84), most consecutive games with at least one point (9) and most consecutive games with an assist (7) while finishing the season with 34 points (9G, 16A) – the sixth-best total in a single season in team history and the most by an individual since 2000. She finished third in the country in total assists and fourth in assists per game while ranking second in the UAA in total points and 55th nationally. The Eagles went 12-0-1 in games where she recorded at least one point and were 8-0 in games where she scored a goal and had a team-leading four game-winning goals. Hall was tabbed as the UAA Offensive Player of the Year and was one of three Eagles on the All-UAA First Team.

Miller makes her first All-Region team following a rookie season where she started 15 of 19 games and displayed her lockdown defensive abilities which enabled her to earn a spot on the All-UAA First Team. Miller anchored the Emory backline all season where the team only allowed 16 goals, limited opposing teams to an average of 3.47 shots on goal per game and turned in eight shutouts. Miller started 15 of the final 16 games of the season and picked up her first-ever collegiate point in the team's win over Brandeis.

Rodriguez's first season with the Eagles led to All-Region acclaim as she turned into an offensive threat for the Blue & Gold. Rodriguez was one of five players to notch 15 or more points this season and was one of three field players to start all 19 contests. She recorded five goals and finished second on the team with five assists, ended the year with a career-high 15 points. Rodriguez had a four-game stretch in the middle of the team's 10-game winning streak where she registered 10 points including the first goals of her collegiate career against Maryville where she notched one of the team's three hat tricks of the season. The Eagles went 6-0-1 in games where she had at least one point and would add crucial goals against Rochester in the season finale and against Centre in the NCAA Second Round.

Reyer rounds out the All-Region recipients, joining Rodriguez on the Second Team following a career-best year for the junior midfielder. Reyer, who was tabbed previously to the All-UAA First Team, was a focal point in the Emory offense as she finished second on the team in both goals (8) and points (19), and collected game-winning goals against Lynchburg and WashU. Reyer recorded a point in nine games, with the Eagles posting a 8-1 record, and had a two-goal performance in the win over Oglethorpe.

The Eagles advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament this season for the first time since 2013, and tenth time in program history, and finished the season with a 13-5-1 overall record.
