Greene Takes Third, Hope Fifth, in 3-Meter Dive at NCAA Regionals

During the second and final day of competition at the NCAA Diving Regionals, hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, Emory University senior Sarah Greene claimed third in the three-meter dive, while sophomore Kellen Hope finished fifth in the event.

Greene finished third in the three-meter dive on Saturday with a score of 424.90, placing behind event winner Katie Sheldon (460.35) and second-place Ashley Heline (443.40), both of Trinity University.  All three divers received bids to the NCAA Championships, based on their finishes during the two-day competition.

Also earning qualification for the NCAA Championships was Occidental College's Jessica Robson, who claimed fourth in Saturday's three-meter dive with a score of 418.90.  Hope, of Emory, finished one place shy of qualification for the national meet, claiming fifth place in Saturday's event with a score of 397.75.

Greene will now be added to the roster of 17 Emory women's swimmers who received entry into the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships earlier in the week.  Greene and the rest of the Eagles' squad will be aiming for the team's fifth-consecutive National Championship when the team heads to Indianapolis, Indiana from March 19th-22nd.
