Emory University senior Nancy Larson recorded NCAA ‘B’ cut times in four individual events and five relays at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio last week. Facing a field consisting mostly of Division I competitors, Larson recorded a top-five finish and a provision time in each of the three freestyle sprint events, including a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.20 seconds. She added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.29 in the preliminaries) and a fifth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.45 seconds in the preliminaries). Her fourth individual ‘B’ cut time came in the preliminaries of the 200-yard individual medley, where she finished fifth with a time of 2:04.40. Larson helped the Eagles to first-place finishes in three relays, swimming the anchor leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:33.30), 400-yard freestyle relay (3:23.29) and 200-yard medley relay (1:42.78). She also swam the anchor leg on Emory’s second-place 800-yard freestyle relay (7:23.71) and the fourth-place 400-yard medley relay (3:47.33). Larson’s performance helped the top-ranked Eagles finish fourth among seven teams at the meet.
