Emory University sophomore Claire Liu won all four events she swam in on Saturday, to help the Eagles to a 157-131 win over the NCAA Division I University of North Carolina-Wilmington at the Woodruff Physical Education Center. Liu claimed a pair of individual first-place finishes, winning the 100-yard backstroke (57.19 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.13 seconds), each in an NCAA provisional qualifying time. She also swam the freestyle leg of the Eagles’ 200-yard medley relay, which won the event in an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 1:45.89, and the second leg of the Eagles’ 200-yard freestyle relay, which finished first in a mark of 1:36.36. Liu contributed 20.75 points towards Emory’s team total, to help the Eagles open the 2014-15 campaign with a dual meet win.
