Emory University sophomore Zahra Dawson won her second-singles match during the third-ranked Eagles' season-opening match against Clayton State University, the 10^th-ranked Division II team in the nation.  Dawson defeated her counterpart in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.  Dawson, an all-American in 2009 and during the fall season, improved to 5-1 in singles matches during the 2009-10 campaign.  Despite her performance, the Eagles fell 7-2 to the Lakers.
