Eagles Continue to Excel on Day 2 of the USTA/ITA Regional Championships

The Emory University women's tennis team put itself in a position to once again sweep the USTA/ITA South Regional Championships, as Gabrielle Clark, Malavika Padmanabhan and Jordan Wylie advanced to the semifinals of the singles bracket, and Clark and Zahra Dawson will face Wylie and Brenna Kelly in the doubles title match on Sunday.

Clark, the top seed, won both of her singles matches on Saturday to advance to the semifinals, where she will face Jenny Liles of the University of the South.  Padmanabhan and second-seeded Wylie will play each other for the right to advance to the championship match.  The singles semifinals will be played at 9:00 AM on Sunday, with the championship match scheduled for a noon start.

In doubles action, top-seeded Clark and Dawson defeated teammates Padmanabhan and Danielle Truitt to advance to the championship match, while Wylie and Kelly, the third seed, upset second-seeded Bronte Goodhue and Liles of Sewanee in the semifinals.  The doubles championship match is schedule for a 3:00 PM start.
