Emory University junior Rebecca Siegler won both of her singles and doubles matches during the opening week of the second-ranked women’s tennis team’s spring campaign. On Thursday against Shorter University, an NAIA program, Siegler won the second singles match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, and teamed with sophomore Madison Gordon to win the second doubles match by an 8-5 score, as the Eagles went on to win by an 8-1 score. During Saturday’s 7-2 win over 25th-ranked Case Western Reserve University, she earned a 9-8 (3) win with Gordon in the first doubles match, and followed with a 6-1, 6-2 first singles win. In her first season with Emory, Siegler is undefeated in singles play with a 5-0 record, and has an 8-1 mark in doubles play. Siegler and the Eagles have opened the campaign with a 3-0 record.
