Women's Tennis Falters at Pomona-Pitzer

The Emory University women's tennis team faltered in its second match on the west coast during the team's spring break trip, falling to Pomona-Pitzer Saturday afternoon in Claremont, CA.

All three doubles matches were tightly contested with the Eagles winning two of the three. Both Emory wins came on courts two and three as senior Christina Watson and sophomore Ana Cristina Perez picked up the 8-6 win at the second position while senior Jessica Fatemi and freshman Eliza McPherron claimed their own 8-6 win on court three.

The Sagehens came out strong in the singles portion of the match, taking all six matches including four in straight sets. Perez and junior Stephanie Shulman forced a third set in their respective matches as Perez fell 6-2, 2-6, 3-6 at fourth singles and Shulman lost 6-1, 2-6, 2-6 at the sixth position.

The Eagles look to snap their current losing skid when they return to the courts this Friday, March 18 at home against UT-Dallas.
