Women’s Tennis Takes Loss in First Match of Spring

The Emory University women's tennis team dropped the first match of the spring season Friday night by a 5-2 margin against Georgia Gwinnett College.

The Grizzlies secured the doubles point with wins at the top two doubles matches. At the end of play, sophomore Eliza McPherron and freshman Iris Berman were tied up at 3-3 on court three.

Senior Stephanie Shulman earned one of the team's two wins in singles play, posting a result of 6-7, 6-3, 10-8. Freshman Emily Kantrovitz also won her singles match on court two with her 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 decision. Their effort wasn't enough as Emory was on the other end of the four remaining singles matches.

The Eagles will be back in Atlanta on Friday, February 24 to face SCAD at 3:00 pm in the home opener.
