Women’s Tennis Drops Road Match to Columbus State, 5-2

The Emory University women's tennis team dropped their road stint against Columbus State on Saturday afternoon by a 5-2 margin.

The Eagles and Cougars each held a 1-1 record entering the matchup in Columbus, Georgia.

Senior Alexa Goetz and freshman Izzy Antanavicius were able to get a win in their doubles match, but the Cougars took two wins earning the doubles point with wins in the first and third doubles matches.

Freshman Emily Kantrovitz earned one of the Eagles' two wins in singles play on court two with her 6-2, 7-5 decision. Freshman Iris Berman was also able to secure a singles win, posting a result of 6-2, 6-1 at the fifth position. Despite hard fought matches, Emory lost the remaining four singles matches.

The Eagles will travel to Nicholasville, Kentucky on Friday, March 3 to compete in day one of the ITA National Indoor Championships.
