The No. 7 ranked Emory University women's tennis team has been selected to the 2023 NCAA Championships as announced Monday afternoon.
The 2021 national champions were one of eight Pool C selections as they earn the selection into the 49-team field. ODAC champion Washington and Lee (18-6) will host the opening rounds and welcome HCAC champion Transylvania (15-3), SAA champion Sewanee (17-5) as well as USA South champion NC Wesleyan (12-9), and at-large selections Piedmont (19-2) and Case Western Reserve (14-5) May 5-7.
The opening rounds will begin on Friday, May 5 with Emory scheduled to face the winner of Washington and Lee-NC Wesleyan on Saturday. The winner of the seven-team pod will advance to the finals of the national championships held May 14-17 in Orlando, Florida.
The selection on Monday marks the Eagles' 38th consecutive tournament appearance while fighting for the program's ninth national title.
Along with team selections, individual selections to the NCAA Championships will be announced this week with the announcement expected on Wednesday.
