Emory University’s Mary Crystal Spence recorded a pair of provisional qualifying times during the Gregory Invitational last weekend. Spence improved on her qualifying time in the 100-meter dash, recording a provisional mark of 12.13 seconds, good for a second-place finish in the finals of the event. Her 100-meter dash time ranks her 18th among Division III competitors this season, in addition to being the second-fastest in school history, just two-hundredths of a second short program’s record. Spence also recorded a provisional qualifying time of 25.23 seconds in the 200-meter dash, finishing fifth overall. Spence will be competing in the 100-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay at the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
