Day Two of the NCAA Championships

Day Two of the NCAA Championships

Emory University senior Alix Dyer, junior Kaele Leonard and sophomore Morgan Monroe were all in action during the second day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, California.

Both Dyer and Leonard ran in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash.  Dyer finished 13th with a time of 57.21 seconds, while Leonard finished 21st with a mark of 58.31 seconds.

Meanwhile, Monroe ran the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles, finishing 15th with a time of 14.49 seconds, a season-best time by an Eagle and the fifth-fastest mark in the program's history.

While none of Emory's competitors on Friday qualified for the finals of their events, the Eagles will have a number of athletes in action during the final day of competition on Saturday.  Senior Ian Francis will open competition for Emory at 3:50 PM ET in the triple jump, and the Eagles' 4x100-meter relay team of senior Jasmine McCullough, Dyer, senior Lauren Attiah and freshman Debora Adjibaba will run in the event's finals at 5:30 PM ET.  Attiah will also compete in the triple jump at 6:00 PM ET, and round out competition as part of the Eagles' 4x400-meter relay team with Adjibaba, Leonard and Dyer at 9:20 PM ET.
