Emory University freshman Kora Dreffs recorded the best mark in the shot put this season by an Eagle at the Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, North Carolina last weekend.  Dreffs finished ninth in the event with a career-best throw of 11.35 meters, a .29 meter improvement on her previous best throw.  The distance ranks as the second-best in the University Athletic Association this season.  She also recorded a career-best mark in the hammer throw, placing 22^nd with a distance of 33.43 meters.  Dreffs’ performance helped the Eagles place fifth in the team standings at the meet.
